The basics
This guide is for intermediate players. If that's you, skip to the next section.
For beginners, basic information can be found on the Albion Online Gathering wiki.
There you'll find information such as:
- Resource types and locations
- Node respawn rates

Update on gathering zones
Mists? Avalonian Roads? Non-lethal zone? Lethal zone? Here's a summary table:
| Content | Advantages | Disadvantages |
|---|---|---|
| Mists | - All resources present - Less brutal PvP - Good for tier 4-6 gathering |
- Low chance for tier > 6 - Requires unlocking all T6+ tools |
| Avalonian Roads | - Limited number of gankers - Elder mobs (1 sword) excellent for leveling up T4-T5 specializations |
- Elder monsters (1 or 2 swords) difficult or impossible to solo - High gank risk |
| Non-Lethal Zone (Blue and Yellow) | - No risk - Good for quantity |
- Often too many players - Low fame/time return |
| Lethal Zone (Red and Black) | - To try lethal, use the S.A.F.E portal - Best fame/time return - Excellent money/time return |
- High risk of deadly PvP - High-tier map often farmed |
| Gank + Gather | - Good in groups - Helps both PvP and PvE players | - Maps limited to those of interest to your gankers |
The black zone is recommended if you are looking for quality and fame.
1οΈβ£
Unlocking T8 quickly, choosing your harvesting ZONES wisely
As shown in the images below, the black zone (or red zone) has a gathering fame bonus (here 40%) that varies depending on the zone's quality.
Go to the black zone from Tier 4 onwards.
2οΈβ£
Unlock T8 quickly, choose your zone tiers wisely
Use the tier-one map for the next tier up to your tools!
π Example: Max T6 tool -> T5 map
Why?
β±οΈ Harvesting is too slow at the same tier
β Very inefficient at higher tiers
π― Goal for T8: optimal harvesting speed and renown/time
3οΈβ£
Unlock T8 quickly, focus on a biome
Rapid Progression:
π― Focus on one resource at a time
π Focus on one biome until Tier 8
Why?
β‘ Faster progression via gear (see gear section)
β Avoid spreading your efforts too thin
π Focus = more efficient tier progression
| Biome | Primary | Secondary | Tertiary |
|---|---|---|---|
| Forest | Wood | Skin | Stone |
| High Plateau | Stone | Ore | Wood |
| Mountain | Ore | Stone | Fiber |
| Desert | Skin | Fiber | Ore |
| Swamp | Fiber | Wood | Skin |

How to choose your black zone? Quality Focus
Independent of players and map tier, quality influences harvesting fame. This means leveling up your specialization faster! +5% / quality level
π
How to choose your black zone? Focus Level
Level affects gathering yield and enchantment rate.
Unlike quality, level increases through improvements made to the territory by the guild that controls it.
Going to high-level maps means:
β¬οΈ Improved specializations
π΅ Good yields
π High risk of death
π‘οΈ
Before departure: Equipment
- The complete harvesting equipment for the primary resource of the biome you are visiting.
- Take a weapon with good DPS to kill resource mobs and good escape options, such as swords
, daggers
, bows
or quaterstaffs
.
π
Before departure: Mount
- For a session of approximately 15 minutes, choose either the T5 salamander
or the T7
because of the correct weight and consistent sprint. - For a session of approximately 30 minutes => Moose
because of its good weight and speed. - For a session longer than 30 minutes => T5 Wild Boar
or T7 Dire Boar
. However, I don't recommend using it as a lethal weapon; it's too easy to gank.
πβοΈ
Before departure : Consumable
- T7 Pork Pie
Obviously. T7.1 Pork Pie is sometimes affordable, keep that in mind. - Invisibility Potion
for escaping. - Major Gathering Potion
Choose a tier appropriate for your map if the node is interesting (.2 or .3): ββa T8 potion is useless on a T5 map.
π°
Before departure : Journal
Don't forget to collect the journals for the two main resources in the biome you're heading to!
π° Bonus earnings
π No time wasted
π To be taken from the market EXCEPT in Brecilian, take it from your islands if you have workers.
β
Bonus
π Pack your gear and gatherer inventory: you'll save precious minutes.
π€² Gathering in a group can unlock content such as resource bosses in lethal zones or the Avalonian Roads.
However, you'll often need PvE gear in addition to your gathering equipment.
βοΈ Are your friends PvP players? Offer them the chance to gank around you while you gather! You'll provide a significant and reliable income.
